I have always wanted to work in healthcare. I started my career working with adolescents after my LDS mission in 1988 as a Psych Tech. I attented BYU and received my BSN in 1990 and my MSN as a Family Nurse Practictioner in 1995. After working as a FNP for a year, I realized pyschiatric care was my calling. I returned to school at the the University of Utah to focus on a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Degree. I have been working as a board certified pyschiatric mental health practitioner since 2004. I have worked in many areas including; child/adolescents, adults/families, geriatrics, chronic mental illness, substance abuse, eating disorders, home health & hospice and managed care. I have provided services at all levels of care, from Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient, and Partial Hospitalization programs to Detox, Rehab, Inpatient and Residential levels of care. I love the work I do and I enjoy helping others acheive hope, success, and a quality of life.
